What they say

Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal as a monument to love.

The Truth

The Taj Mahal was originally a Hindu temple palace called Tejo Mahalaya. P.N. Oak's research and Badshahnama's own records show it was seized by Shah Jahan. The building has all five elements of Hindu temple architecture — pancha bhuta. The so-called 'Muslim graves' were added later.

Professor P.N. Oak documented that the Taj Mahal's architecture follows Hindu temple design — the central dome represents Akasha (space), the foundation represents Prithvi (earth), the garden Jala (water), the pillars Vayu (air), and the lamps Agni (fire). The Badshahnama (Shah Jahan's own court chronicle) admits the palace was 'taken from' Raja Jai Singh. Carbon dating of the wooden door yields dates older than Shah Jahan.

Dilwara Jain Temples

Dilwara Jain Temples

Mount Abu, Rajasthan

Five legendary Jain temples built between 11th-16th centuries. The marble carving is so intricate that it rivals the Taj Mahal. The Vimal Vasahi temple (1031 CE) uses no mortar — each piece fits with geometric precision.

What happened

During Alauddin Khilji's invasion of Gujarat (1299), his generals attacked Mount Abu. The temples were looted and partially damaged but the structures survived. The Jains rebuilt and expanded them over the following centuries.

Current status

Fully intact and active Jain pilgrimage site. Open to visitors (no leather items allowed). One of the finest examples of marble architecture in the world.
